For example, Documentation and packaging inspection can verify that the documents, labels, quantities, part numbers, and part types provided at the time of shipment are consistent with the purchase order;
External visual inspection can measure the length, width, thickness and other external dimensions of the material to be tested; it can also check whether the appearance of the IC chip is complete and normal. The appearance of the original IC chip is usually very smooth and uniform, while the refurbished IC chip has undergone welding and other repairs, and the appearance may be rough and uneven;
For another example, it can also be judged by the identification information on the IC chip. The logos on original IC chips are usually relatively standardized and clear, while the logos on counterfeit and shoddy chips may be blurred, deformed, missing, etc.
Now, Cytech Systems Lab shares a case of LUMEX SML-LXF1206SBC-TR.
When the inspection personnel of Cytech Systems Lab first received this batch of materials, they discovered something suspicious about the label:the humidity sensitivity level information on the label provided by the supplier was inconsistent with the specification. The label showed MSL2 and the specification was MSL4.
In the subsequent external visual inspection, the inspectors from Cytech Systems Lab first confirmed the appearance dimensions and the dimensions passed.
During further external visual inspection, laboratory inspectors once again found that the physical package appearance was inconsistent with the drawings in the specification. For instance, there was a gap in the middle of the physical soldering terminal, but the square pad in the specification had no gap.
Draw conclusion from this, The humidity sensitivity level information on the SML-LXF1206SBC-TR label does not match the specification, and the shape of the sample welding end does not match the drawings in the specification. It is a high-risk material.

Sample testing instructions: External Visual Inspection found regular scratches and coatings on the surface of the molded body, indicating that it is a reprinted material. Regular scratches are traces of polishing. The coating is the substance applied to the surface after the material is polished. So, it can be determined that this is defective material.
